Long Island Engagement Session Locations

Long Island is home to many beautiful sites that can make your engagement photos truly special.

My wedding collections include an engagement session that helps you and your partner get in front of the camera before the big day.

Choosing a location for your photos can be stressful, but don't worry - Long Island has plenty of hidden gems and picturesque spots. From parks to fields, I’ve compiled a list of 11 amazing places to take engagement photos.

Bayard Cutting Arboretum – The arboretum is a picturesque location for photo sessions, with ample opportunities for memorable shots. A fee of $200 is charged for 1.5 hours on the grounds, in addition to an $8 parking fee. Photo sessions are available from 11 a.m., with the last one starting at 2 p.m. Reservations are not accepted and spots are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information and to download the permit application, please visit this link.

Old Westbury Gardens –If you're looking for a picture-perfect background for your event photos, the Old Westbury Gardens is the place to be. You'll find lush flower gardens, tree-lined walks, and grand architecture that'll make your photos look amazing. Just a heads up, if you're planning on doing portrait or wedding photography, you'll need a permit. The sessions last for 90 minutes, but you can always extend it if you need more time. The fees will depend on the day of the week and time of day, so make sure to reach out to weddings@oldwestburygardens.com with your preferred date and time. Keep in mind, session spots are limited, so don't wait too long to contact them for more info.

Planting Fields Arboretum – These lovely grounds are situated in Oyster Bay and would make a wonderful spot for your engagement photos. A permit is required and costs $100. Photos taken inside the Camellia House are available but limited, and cost $300. Additionally, there is a parking fee. For further details, please visit this page.

Sands Point Preserve – The Guggenheim Estate is a beautiful location for capturing your special moments, although it can be a bit costly. For outdoor photography, with pre-approved locations, the rate is $350 for a two-hour session. Indoor photography at the historic Hempstead House is available for $450 for a two-hour session, which also includes an additional hour for outdoor photos. Visit this link to learn more and get in touch with the preserve.
