Gurney's Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa Wedding || Alex & Dan in Montauk

Being born and raised on Long Island has it's perks.

An hour train ride west and you're at possibly the greatest city in the world. Take an hour and a half drive east and you're at some of the greatest beaches in the world.

That east ward drive, if you stay south of the 495 brings you to Montauk. A small fisherman's town that becomes one of this most popular spots in late spring to the early days of fall. Hotels are packed, restaurants are packed, and prices for most things reach a new height not seen in any other season. It truly is its own thing. Quiet in the winter with a hint of the madness of the summer

A few miles west from the center of the town of Montauk is Gurney's. A waterfront resort offering stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, a world class spa and restaurant, and possibly the best view for any outdoor wedding ceremony available on Long Island.

A Montauk Wedding.

I had the opportunity to capture Alex & Dan's ceremony and reception at Gurney's Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa and it is definitely not a wedding I will forget anytime soon. The weather was perfect with clear skies and a light breeze that swept in from the waterfront. The stunning sunset made for a beautiful backdrop for Alex in her beautiful Kleinfeld Bridal dress and the soft light that glistened off the Atlantic added something to an already perfect ceremony that can't really be put into words. The light coming off the bistro string bulbs added bokeh perfection and the early fall sunset offered the softest of lights making it a perfectly captured ceremony. We headed down to the waterfront to capture formals and with the waves of the Atlantic crashing just feet away from us, we had to make sure Alex’s Kleinfeld dress didn’t get kissed with saltwater before the reception.
